Why can we never see out a game ? Always hanging on from a match winning position!
Would you have posted had we won?

This and Ebsfleet are the only game where we have conceded late on from a game winning position. Torquay still had 10 minutes to go and was just an even game.

You’ve just completely made up a narrative so you can come on here and complain. Why can’t you just be gutted like the rest of us?

The fact we walk away gutted with a point away at Barnet shows just how well the team are doing this season.

Shelton slotted in very well - especially having only joined the club yesterday, and with a debut goal.

As to how the referee saw fit for the game to still be playing by the time they struck their equaliser - I’ve no idea.

Your posts are only ever negative and nothing else.

That is fine when it is justified. As long you can appreciate when things are good and have the balance to give praise when that is also justified.

It’s not your opinion which is an issue here, it’s your misunderstanding of the facts. Look back at this season’s results and you’ll see that we’ve ‘hung on’ quite a few times already this season.

I’ve posted positively on here before, and still receive abuse . The fact everyone thinks I only post when we have had a poor result shows how often it occurs! 9 games without a win only 2 points inside the playoff zone when we were 10 points clear is dreadful form

Was weird today - we seemed in total control just before we made it 2-0. Then somehow Barnet managed to get back in to game without really threatening that much. A lot better performance from us than recently though. Would have taken a draw before but feels like a sickener at the moment.

Part reason we can't see a game out is ball retention which lets be honest isn't great, so another two goals conceded which would be a good point if we could win our home games.

Check their forum and they'll be comforting themselves with our last-minute capitulation. Frankly it feels right to look down after our barren run and see our local rivals nine points below us.

Nine points? That's not that much. How much are we off top place? Seriously, today showed a lot about our team and what Dowse needs to do about it. Still, we have loads of midfielders on our books, and loads that apparently we are not paying for because they are on loan.

Nine points is a lot - it's three direct wins to losses, and we won more games in August than Aldershot have all season. We're not looking at top at all, and shouldn't be! Agreed that the squad needs a bit of work, but we shouldn't have lost today. Think it's very interesting that we reintroduced Max (who's has a lot of stick) and brought in a total newbie (who looked quality at times) in central midfield and got ourselves into a position where a draw is very disappointing.

When was our last win? In August?

Yes. But the last performance that deserved a win was this afternoon. We've had deserved defeats to Aldershot (didn't take our chances and the second half was a shambles), Bromley (never laid a glove after the half-hour mark), and Yeovil (seemingly asleep at the wheel after the first went in.)

We haven't been obviously second best at all this season otherwise. Torquay got an equaliser after two 6'4 defenders clattered each other to let a 5'8 winger in at the back post, we equaled Hartlepool, Ebbsfleet get a 92nd minute equaliser from a joke free kick, Chorley was a poor game in which we matched them, Boreham Wood was just mental given the chances we bottled within 18 yards, and Wrexham are a team who can beat anybody on their day if you look at their personnel.

I am frustrated as anyone else. But if you look at what we're doing on the field, there's honestly not a lot wrong.

In fairness to Stu, there is more abuse directed at him than the other way round. So be careful.

Stu's opinion may be biased one way, but there are other opinions biased the other way. The answer lies in the middle.

To be fair the answer could lie anywhere
I don't remember saying he was abusive.
Not sure what there is to be careful about.
Be careful you don't go down the same road as him and only post 100% negative comments.

First things first, I thought we played really well on Saturday, battled hard in not great conditions and at times were the better team.
Barnet started well, but after the miss from Meite, where he probably should have passed to Tarpey, we came into the game, and deservedly took the lead. after that, we were unfortunate to go in only 1 up as had a coupe of chances to increase the lead. Really good 2nd goal as well, and had we kept the lead for longer than 5 minutes I think Barnet would have become frustrated. That was the turning point for me. We became deeper and deeper, and Barnet seemed to stretch the game out wide, and created plenty of chances before they scored the equaliser.
I walked out the ground really frustrated that we couldn't hold on, that the ref seemed to keep playing until they equalised, but in the cold light of day, 2-2 was probably a fair result, and we are our own worst enemy. The amount of 'time wasting' we were doing was always going to come back and hurt us, and so it proved. I get where the 6 minutes came from (Casey went down for a long time, subs etc) and I get where the extra time in injury came from (we made a sub for a start) This isnt the 1st time it has happened either, and it probably wont be the last.
As I said at the start, battling performance from everyone, apart from Meite. From when we went 2-0 up, the Barnet defence hardly had anything to do, as he caused them no problems. Not harassing, closing down, keeping the ball when played up to him. He was poor, and wasn't the outlet that was needed when the backs were against the wall. In saying, Max played really well, and did Nathan at RB
all in all frustrating that we couldn't hold onto the win, but would have take the point at the start of the game.
Finally, apparently the only reason we were on the side and not behind the goal was because there was a wedding reception in the bar underneath the stand behind the goal. I have no idea why they couldn't allow us to use the bar we had, but allow us to be in the stand behind the goal, as it wouldn't have disrupted what was going on in the bar underneath. Just barrier off the side stand when coming out of the bar. £22 as well, what is all that about, when it is only slightly more expensive to go to a Premiership game as an away fan.
