Just back from match

Post by djspeak » Sat Aug 11, 2018 6:19 pm

Oxford not bad - big centre halves and they might well have edged first half. We still look a bit exposed at back. However their lack of discipline reduced them to 9 men by end game. Started with Reggie today and he had a good game. Paul Hodges came on and made a difference. A well earned 3-2 win and top of the league!!!! Bring on Truro (hopefully still with no management).

Thought Oxford were very good first half. We were frankly toilet.

Picked up big time in the second half. Introduction of Hodges was a great substitution and Reggie Young was excellent. There's definitely concerns over the midfield area still, but if we're 9/9pts without being anywhere near top gear then we're gonna be ok.

Agree with the person in the other thread who said having Collier in there made a difference. 3 games in a week probably too much for Jolley. Don't forget though we have Appau and CHC waiting in the wings and defenders to come back and free up Collier so I'm not too concerned. Jolley and Ferdinand are being asked to do a lot of work in there to effectively link up the front 4 and the back 5. I think in some games we will need another man in there to make us a bit more solid and help us keep posession.
