Aldershot Programme

Post by bobr666 » Sun Jul 14, 2019 4:59 pm

I'm starting to think about the first league programme for the match against Aldershot. We are making the programmes thicker this season to allow more space for editorial content and expanding the content on the opposition. Is anyone interested in looking at:

[*]Aldershot, the club & history
[*]Squad and 'players to watch for'. We're using a tabular format for players for this season.

Any volunteers, please contact me at bob@raikes.eu

How about a section on mutual players of recent years (Grant Payne etc)?

And his long lost nephew Josh.

Surely a 2 page spread, appreciation of Scott Rendell?

An article about Keven Brown and David Puckett, from the old defunct Aldershot.

And in the spirt of AFC Wimbledon and their “No Platforming” of Franchise FC no mention of Aldershot Town.

Or instructions on leaving by Gate 3!

Fan interview with Flakey. Naturally it would be censored.

Censored, but thankfully very short. One word in fact.

A dot to dot page that when completed becomes a map to guide them to gate 3

"expanding the content on the opposition" no thanks.
However I would like you to add player profiles a la Shoot & Match magazine from the 70's and 80's where players are asked snap shot questions such as what is your favourite breakfast cereal, favourite other sport etc.

You could ask Geoff Chapple to write about Aldershot as a kid. And the growing rivalry.

What about a page suggesting different names for THAT team due to next time they go bust.
I'll go for Aldershot Phoenix FC. (Arising from the ashes of predecessors).

Joking apart, it may be better to ask a tame Shots fan (there are a few decent ones that log on here) to write a history piece for it.

Maybe a piece about notable Aldershot related TV appearances?

Seems very interesting to me. Thought I would have a good laugh and read some comments on shotsweb. They seem to ban anyone who says anything against our beloved ex chairmen who changed his support to them. Seems any shots fan says anything against him they get banned. Maybe the football club controls the message board. That's what happens with a massive club.

Another shots fan in peace here. No our message board has no control from or connection to the club at all, it is completely independent.

It was just one person who was claiming his posts had been deleted and thought the reason was because of his constant criticism of the Chairman. One of the moderators actually confirmed that it was just one or two posts that got deleted because of bad language being used. We allow any opinion to be voiced on pretty much any subject as long as it stays within family friendly boundaries for language used and does not contain anything racist or Excessively unpleasant to someone, moderately unpleasant seems almost compulsory in some threads (LOL). The debate over our chairman has been allowed to continue and will most likely be something that will pop up again time after time, usually whenever the feelgood factor is missing for some reason.

I see must be fake news. On the further behind thread.

Starts around pg 4 I think to 6. Nth stand moaner is a Woking fan, ?makes sense though he seems to know quite a bit about ATFC. Also a chap called mount pleasant must be another Woking fan.
They seem to feel posts are not allowed. Must admit shots web does not seem to have alot of swearing, better than our board for that. Other than a chap called something postie, read his posts they are funny sounds like he is always on the sauce. Swears a bit and seems to get away with it.

I know it goes against the grain it is so funny read the thread. Anyone says anything about our fantastic ex chairmen. Gets set upon. Very funny. God bless Aldershot fans they will always keep us entertained.
