BBC Radio Commentary -Keep up the good work

Post by GladToBeHere » Sun May 19, 2019 9:27 pm

Given how good the radio commentary of every game last season was.

Can one assume that normal service will resume for all games next season?

Given the increased distances that will have to be covered for away games, I hope the BBC extend the travel budget to accommodate.

As a fan who lives in the North West I can say that I'm excited for some away trips to 'local' fixtures next season and am looking forward to listening to the remainder of the games via radio commentary.

How will BBC Surrey's priorities change now Aldershot are in the league below us?

Given that every day of Surrey cricket fixtures are covered in full by BBC Surrey, I'd hope that the relatively cheaper coverage of 90 minutes of football will continue. We're not exactly overrun with competion from higher divisions or more successful clubs. To be honest, one benefit of being outside the League is that there is still flexibility for local radio to broadcast internet coverage too.

Will their news bulletins still prioritise a club in Sussex and a club in Hampshire ahead of a club in Surrey?

Will the commentator still make up his own words and phrases? My bingo card includes: Far hand side, buying his time, taking the applaudits, Greg Lerr and my favourite...Match Kretschmar.

i'm hoping for a guest spot every now and then for the commentator that filled in - I'm thinking Torquay. He was comedy gold.

The local Truro commentator that did the honours was fantastic!

Would be nice if it was on radio as well as the internet.
