Spence could do a good job at this level.

Also wonder if that's Greg Luer, just released by hull. Could do with a fresh start.

Less bothered by Nicholas Bignall. Failed to hold down a club for years.

It was Greg, not Nick. Typo on my part, sorry!

I'm personally very excited to see if Diau can perform a bit more clinically than he did at Fleet Town. 196cm tall!

Doesn't quite match what's on Twitter...

Starting XI:
1. Sam Mason
2. Nathan Collier
3. Josh Casey
4. Ian Gayle
5. Jack Cook
6. Dan Spence - defender made 16 apps for Sutton last year
7. Greg Luer - forward, just released by Hull, was on loan at Maidstone last year
8. Fabio Saraiva
9. Duane Ofori-Acheampong
10. Giuseppe Sole (c)
11. Nicky Wheeler

Potentially 4-4-2... Mason; Spence, Casey, Gayle, Cook; Collier, Saraiva, Luer, Wheeler; DOA, Sole

Subs:
12. Nic Bignall - striker, once of Reading, last with Hungerford
13. Peter Arnold (GK) - academy
14. Chris Dickson - striker, scored plenty of goals for Chelmsford
15. Declan Appau
16. Paul Hodges - midfielder from Hartley Witney
17. Brandon Diau - stiker (I think), from Burgess Hill?
18. James Dale - midfielder, been in Scotland potentially
19. Kofi Halliday - potentially another striker?
20. Samson Maagbe - midfielder, looks to be from Kettering

Sure people will be able to do better research than me.

I got the names off the back of the program. May well be that things have changed since printing!

Spence and Luer are interesting triallists. Dickson knocking on a bit but has a decent record

Bit of reading suggests James Dale was part of the Brechin side that scored four points last season.

Dan Spence would be a great addition to the back line I reckon

3-400? Not too bad considering we're clashing with a World Cup semi final.

0-2 already though...

Luer is a Sussex lad, came through via Burgess Hill and scored stacks a couple of years back as they romped to the Ryman South title, signed for Hull and seemed to be well thought of with goals for U23 & pushing to fringes of first team, hadn't realised they had released him.

Scored twice for them in the League Cup and made a handful of appearances in the Championship. Hasn't had much luck out on loan but looks a potentially decent get on paper.

Pretty sure Dowse was in record to say Gez would play first 20 minutes and then come on at the end too.

0-3 HT. One decent chance for us (and I think only two or three shots) but, shock horror, our team of trialists and VNS players has been outclassed by a League 1 side.

Probably not quite how Gez imagined his ‘testimonial’ to be, playing 30 odd minutes in front of 300 people.

But better than nothing though and fair play to Dowse for arranging it.

The world cup semi always maid it a tough draw, 300 would be a big crowd for most teams in our league! ;)

661 in the crowd apparently... maybe half stayed in the bar to watch the World Cup game?

As expected Gez is back on for last 10 minutes. 1-3 now. Hodges with the goal.

Good performances from Hodges, Halliday, Gayle, Acheampong and Collier. Our 7'6 striker spent the last 15 minutes at centre back! Be interesting to see who we retain from the trialists.

Fair enough. Strange we're not just playing in the plain white kit again or last season's Naked Leader kits.

Looks like the giant striker is well known for playing CB as well...

Worth having another look at the two second half wingers (especially the 20) and the 16. Wouldn’t be too bothered about the others.

Tough game against good opposition. Would be a little worried about the midfield - as there was no shield at all. Back four looked good, but the keeper’s probably had better games. Spence didn’t take his chance and Fabio struggled to make an impact.
Scorer of possibly the greatest goal in the history of the Woking FC Supporters' team
