Todays game

Post by Trust-in-The-Hill » Sat Feb 10, 2018 8:25 pm

Ok performance and 3 valuable points.

However, where was everyone today? Only 1300 odd in the crowd.

Weather plus egg ball killed off the fair weather viewers IMHO

Ref destroyed the game, so thank god only 1300 had to watch it.

Very happy we still got 3 points though, well done Cards!

I didn't expect a bumper 1800 + crowd today, given the weather, rugby etc..

But I certainly hadn't expected the crowd to drop to 1300! There can't be that many egg chasers - surely?

I also thought the ref missed a blatant hand ball by Chester in the second half, as the ball was crossed in. I was right behind it and thought definite pen! It sounded like I might have been in the minority though. One of those ones I wouldn't mind seeing again, just like the ludicrous sending off - God, I hope we appeal!

Start of half term might have something to do with it, should have done kids for a quid maybe?

Rugby on the telly has always killed our attendances.

And it was very miserable.

But let's face it, we got 3 points, so who cares what the gate was! Don't think we need many points now to be safe, 6 maybe?

The gate is important if the business model was to sell a load of season tickets and increase spend in the ground.

7 more should do it, I don't have any worries on that front though now.

Can we have Astles getting "bundled" over by Greco-Cox on the highlights please?

You are correct , but still today's crowd was pretty shit with all things considered - on the back of a win and , two weeks off and 1800 season ticket holders.

Eastleigh had 1700 , Maidenhead had 1400.

Correction - Eastleigh SAID they had 1700

I do often enjoy the speculation when there's a lower than average crowd. Rather than people just can't be arsed:

August - September: everyone is on der olidees
October - November: cold weather, raining
December: everyone is christmas shopping
January: just after christmas so no-one has any money
February - March: egg chasing, apparently or 'Champions League on TV' for mid week matches

Anyone got anymore?

The irony of that is that you CAN buy your way out of this league. You just have to spend your money on bringing in the right people, which he hasn't done.
