Re: Match Thread A vs Chorley VNL

Another solid result and another game unbeaten. If we were struggling as expected, we’d be delighted with any points away from home.

Re: 1/4 of the season gone already

Major difference between this season and Limbrick’s season is that we aren’t at all reliant on one player, like we were that season (Ward) to make things happen. He may have got some negative press about not chasing back or making tackles, but he was comfortably our best player. This season has seen...

Re: 1/4 of the season gone already

Top half has to be a realistic target after the excellent start, but I worry that some of our squad might get picked up by other sides in the league who can pay a lot more than us.

Re: The Chorley coach mystery

I’ve literally used the coach once in the last ten years - so appreciate I’m not the target customer, but the fact you’ve got to get to Kingfield (drive or £15 taxi each way) first, you can’t drink on the coach and the fact that the prices aren’t exactly competitive make it literally the last option...

Re: Mike Cestor

I’m not sure any of us thought he had that in him, but he had loads of potential with us - quick, very strong, able to beat a man and often only let down by some poor decision making, which comes with experience. Starting to realise just how good Garry’s best teams were in terms of talent. If only t...

I thought we didn’t pay agents, rather than deal with them. Dowse has mentioned David Howells a few times and I’m 99% sure Steve Moss was Armani’s agent.

Is Moses still there? He would be an excellent addition to our current side.
No thanks

Damon Lathrope is now coaching the U13s at Watford.
That’s a name I haven’t heard for a while. Good luck to him. Always seemed a very popular player and deserves a lot of luck after the way his career was cut short.

Loads of their original output was dodgy too - implying there was a bungalow backing onto a ten story block of flats at one point, they removed all of the trees from the images and also amended the FC design to be a blank block, rather than something that actually looked quite nice. Whilst they migh...

Re: Reflection vs Ebbsfleet United

Well it's that annoying tactic of taking players off to waste time when all it does is add it on,slowing the game down instead of going at the jugular of a team that was beaten. We added minutes on for them to score there goals and really it serves us right. I’m still furious about that corner when...

Re: Reflection vs Ebbsfleet United

I think Dowse needs to look at using the bench more. He has played the same team every week and makes subs after about 85 minutes. We are only part time and this will catch up on us, needs to use the squad to prevent injuries and worn out players I’m not sure it’s that simple. Aside from Parry/Gerr...

£45K for Kretzchmar too. I’d sell him for £45.

Re: Hartlepool United 1 - 1 Woking | Match Highlights

Whilst I seriously doubt Dowse would be offered the Lincoln job, I wouldn’t blame him if he did look to move up the ladder. Managers at our level earn a decent wage (I imagine around 50-80% ahead of the national average), but League One or above wages go up enormously. A couple of years at that leve...

Re: Garry Hill return

Slightly underplaying it there. Not unlike Dowse, he took on a club that was in the shit and gave us some pride in our club again. His first few seasons were nothing short of excellent as we went up and established ourselves as one of the best attacking sides in non league. The last eighteen months ...

Re: Match Thread A vs Hartlepool VNL

Poor decisions on the penalty and disallowed goal - but probably a fair result. Ross made some solid saves, whilst our set piece threat was strong - but neither side looked dominant. Saying that, I’m delighted that we go places like that and go toe to toe with clubs like that. Superb work again from...

Re: Ex-Cards News (May '19 onwards)

No complex Andy, I just don’t get the view that some players are better just because they came through our youth team, rather than another team’s youth academy. Lazar looked ok, but has had no football since then. He may have signed for two league teams, but he’s also been released twice. Had a play...
