Re: Manny Parry signs

Cook looked like he enjoyed being allowed to get forward a bit more.
If you are going to be defensive have a CB at right back and the midfielders have to help out with runners

Re: Next Season Expectation.

Staines shouldn’t even have had a NLS grading, a horribly cramped ground

Re: Manny Parry signs

, it’s just the small fact that he played vs Watford knowing he was going. If we could get him back and permanent, and he puts in the effort and performance we saw away at Billericay, that will be ideal Still don’t see the crime. Him playing against Watford is a good thing, and I can’t believe many...

Re: Next Season Expectation.

Without too much trouble?
Chelmsford is a flat area with decent access. Westfield is a grass bank up one end and a slope down into the flood basin at the other. Chelmsford also already have a big bar, toilets, and lots of flat space for catering.
And a car park

Re: Next Season Expectation.

What is the worst VNLP compliant ground currently? I am trying to visualise the minimum we need to jam into Westfield somehow. The fence line is a walkway behind the west end - to put anything there you would need to take more land, and that land immediately slopes into the bit that is low so it can...

Re: Next Season Expectation.

I can’t believe anyone suggesting Westfield can actually have been there.
It’s tiny.
The facilities are tiny.
There is no room for enough temporary stands.
And the residents would have a shitfit

Re: Martin Tyler

The problem is in midfield - we have no one who can control the game. Passing out from the back requires midfielders who make themselves available and can take the ball under pressure and keep it, rather than just put it back to the centre backs with even fewer options (hence Stones mistake - it sho...

Re: Next Season Expectation.

Where would you put these temporary stands and all other necessary facilities? Westfield does not have the space and would struggle to get any planning permission from some rather active neighbours.

Re: Next Season Expectation.

You mean businesses don’t generally announce “our new product is going to be a bit tatty, but it’s all we can afford and all that your cheap prices will pay for”?
Surely not?!?!

Isn’t he the one who is more than a little bit sensitive? I think I know the incident you refer to but being racial abused, accused of being ‘involved with children’ etc would see me react in a similar if not far worse way. That was not banter and was directed deliberately with the sole purpose of ...

Re: Transfer Update

The ball doesn’t roll normally or bounce normally, and plastic pitches can be bad ones too - Bromley’s has wrinkles in it ffs

Re: Transfer Update

Plastic pitches just look rubbish, you can’t take the game seriously when played on a training surface.
The ball also doesn’t bounce or roll properly and the players can’t rely on the grip.
It’s just not football

Re: The Clive Walker effect

Money and legs.
Once they get kicked out the top couple of levels most players have earnt enough to retire and the intensity of football these days means their legs knees etc are knackered - they would rather relax on the money and keep the knees for playing with the kids/grandkids....

Jason Pearce just won the League 1 play offs with Charlton.
