Re: An Update from Nick Davidson, Woking FC COVID-19 Officer

It would be pretty brave to allow football crowds, particularly standing ones. Most people would be happy to miss out on work, shopping, and even pubs in their current form if they needed to isolate. But telling an asymptomatic football fan and all his mates to miss a couple of games once they have ...

Re: Vile Hobby Club it is then, not The BELT

I don’t think we are in any place to be smug about other hobby clubs. The glorious years involved spending more than we could really afford whilst not spending on the ground (the council money bought a ground grading but no transformational improvement in facilities or money making). When a milliona...

Re: Poku not signing new contract

Poku was a good player with a great attitude but a bit of a liability as his style tended to get him targeted by referees.
I got the impression maybe he didn’t fit into Dowson’s ‘team is a tight gang’ mentality??

Re: Poku not signing new contract

I don’t think we should be too worried about competing. Even staying up is secondary to making sure the club actually survives what could end up being over a year without gate money.

Re: Season Start and Season Ticket Update

“ Bubble is irrelevant and a family of 4 take 4 spaces” Surely they don’t expect the family to sit apart? With booked seats you can get more people in by letting the families sit in a bunch with spacing around them. Personally I’m not convinced why you can’t have people sat next to each other anywa...

Re: Season Start and Season Ticket Update

What about bubbles?
If all spectators in the LGS are STs in designated seats presumably you can fit a lot more in by grouping households together?
You could do this on the terraces too but it’s going to need a lot of painted lines and numbers!

Re: Ex-Cards - May 29th onwards

Howes looked frightened when he played for us. A keeper needs to be arrogant, otherwise they are never going to recover from the inevitable mistakes.

Re: Salary Cap Proposal

It’s still worth it. If the bankrolled clubs cheat and still overspend then it hasn’t made the situation for the other clubs worse. On the other hand most clubs will obey it and it will be helpful for boards in resisting gobby managers mobilising muppet fans into the usual “if we just invest (invest...

Personally I would have the car park spaces auctioned off to the highest bidders.
There is free parking just over the road

Re: goalkeeper laws

Adrian, I'm sure the "laws" response makes you feel very clever every time you post it... Cambridge dictionary definition of "law" "1. A rule, usually made by a government..." Any law is by definition a rule so use of rule can hardly be considered incorrect. The OP has even used "law" in the title....

Re: Play Offs

Whilst I would like to get rid of Bwood the league will end promotion if we send them to tinpot dumps like that. So get rid of Barnet instead. It’s close but an utterly joyless trip. Get Alty back as they are old school like us. Weymouth from the South as it’s a great place. Then Bath. Then Dorking ...

Re: Ex-Cards - May 29th onwards

You mention Inih and then I visit BBC and read this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52994025 Still feel they should have walked off and abandoned the game. Would have had a much bigger impact. It has to be walk off despite the score line not walk off if you’re losing. Then you give dickheads ...
