Re: National league back scrapping of replays

The Conference are not covering themselves in glory are they? After yesterday’s three different and contradictory statements in as many hours about the Gateshead playoff shambles, the curious allotment of COVID loans to *cough* certain clubs in the league and now this ridiculous half-witted statemen...

Re: Club shop

I can't imagine a situation where someone would buy a Woking kit, because they'd seen it in the town centre, who wouldn't just buy it directly from the club. If that did ever happen, there's no way it's often enough to cover even someone on minimum wage. Add in electric, heating etc.... and we are ...

Also great to see Casey give his shirt to a disabled fan after the game. He always seems to make an effort to see her after home games
He goes over to her every home game, it absolutely makes her day (and mine) - a true gentleman.

Re: WFC TV | Woking 3-0 AFC Fylde | Match Highlights and Michael Doyle Interview

Watching the highlights it’s no accident that Tunji was in place to score those goals. Good set piece work by Cuthbert and Turner I believe? Tunji confirmed that they'd actually worked on it in training in the week in a post match interview, he was also glowing about working with Michael Doyle and ...

Re: Staying up or going down?

Some of us are still scarred by the end of the 1984-85 season and a final day that looks ominously similar to this one. After a terrible start to the season under the unfortunate Bill Dodgin, we'd picked up under Geoff and were in reasonably good form. We just needed a point from the final game to ...

Re: Next season

I used to cringe a bit with the Elvis thing, but it seems to be lapped up by the KRE and now even the LGS, which is endearing. Good honest interview from Doyle on BBC Surrey, when asked about how he’s found the experience of his first managerial job, he admits making mistakes and naivety by trying t...

Re: 66 years ago today - TV Guide.

Wembley was built for, and named after the British Empire Exhibition of 1924/25. The stadium was due to be demolished immediately afterwards. I don’t think they actually officially changed the name, it just had less relevance over the years.

66 years ago today - TV Guide.

There was no live Conference streaming, or BBC Surrey with online live commentary of their (quote) “Surrey Derby” of Alderpop versus the Dorks back in the day. So instead what was on the Telebox on this very day back in 1958? Well from 3.50pm you could watch the 2nd half of the FA Amateur Cup Final ...

There is quite a bit about Ron Pook if you Google him He played 1905-08 and scored 25 goals in 66 games. He was 5’6” tall. His occupation was a civil engineer There are some military papers online also on a Canadian site Ron Pook (sat in the middle row far right) this is probably a 2nd XI/boys side ...

Cardinals in the Great War

On this day in 1917 Woking player, Captain William Cellington Skeet, age 24, of the 12th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales Own) was in action at Arras. After being initially shot in ankle, he was making way to the dressing station and was hit again in the neck and shoulder and sadly...

I present to you evidence of Inih acting liked a discourteous prick.

I’d have him back in a flash, but If you dish it out, you’ve got to be prepared to take some back.

Re: Tuesday thoughts & MDs Record so far

There have been mentions recently that Browne may re-appear soon, he’s turned up recently in his training gear in group shots of the team. Cue for him during our last couple of games ripping it up with Liam Enver-Marum style “contract form” 🔥 🔥 🔥 and another two year deal.
