Re: Current First Team

Surely Dowse will want Cook to sign? Would be madness to let him move on if he's keen to stay. Football can be a funny old game, though. In these chats with Dowse he could be telling some players they aren't first choice in their position. Cook will have other teams sniffing around him and gives pl...

Re: Luer

I wouldn't be surprised to see him as one of the leagues top scorers next season if he's able to get a run of games up-front. Great signing for Eastbourne!

Re: Ex-Cards News (May '19 onwards)

Goddard - Would love him back Jeffery - has one more goal in his entire career than Loza had in 8 games with us Marsh-Brown - Unless you are better informed than me, I don't see any reason why he would want to go part time or how we could afford him Napa - Is that the Oxford lad? He was on loan at M...

Re: Manny Parry signs

Do people really think we’d be able to bring a another right back on top of the defenders who have signed/agreed to sign? Cook at right back for me, with Collier and Gerring as the back-up defenders. If we managed to get Goddard, Loza and Edser, I’d be delighted. Can’t see it happening, but it woul...

Re: Manny Parry signs

Dowse seemed to think that Diarra, Gerring and Cook would all sign still. I guess Cook at RB covering CB when needed and Gerring as CB backup with Parry and Diarra starting. I think I'd be pretty happy with a back four of Parry, Diarra, Casey and a new right back; with Cook, Gerring and Collier pro...

Does this mean we are unlikely to see Diarra back then?

Welcome Manny!

Re: Next Season Expectation.

We only have 5 players signed on at the moment, how can anyone be saying that we’re in a relegation battle already?

As has been said in the past, the best part time players are often better than the worst full time.

Is it wishful thinking to believe Goddard might come back now? He owns his own business so moving to part time might be something he is actually interested in.

Re: Transfer Update

Diarra has been poor earlier in the season but Torquay is not an example of that. He was solid the whole game and it was only because Ben got sent off that we didn’t win that game. As for the Wealdstone game, Diarra didn’t put a foot wrong. They scored two early goals from set pieces, neither of wh...

Re: Transfer Update

Cook has already signed Gerring has committed to doing the same Diarra is also looking likely to do the same So the personnel at the back is likely to be the same Surely I'm not the only one shiteing ones pants at the thought of 90% of last seasons defence being the defence in a much tougher, more ...

Re: Transfer Update

I don’t think the fact that he was unfamiliar with our team matters when it comes to simply heading and kicking a football which he seemed to find incredibly difficult for the most part and again I refer to the fact that we didn’t keep a clean sheet for 10 games which was shortly after he came in. ...

But with Diarra and Casey starting and Gerring and Cook on the bench? A new CB and RB with cover that have already played with eachother and know what is expcted of them.

Re: Transfer Update

He was poor because he had little game time and was slotted into a defence he was unfamiliar with. Defences get better with familiartiy and game time as Diarra proved. We need some continuity somewhere. It seems like Dowse is rebuilding the attack and midfield which in my opinion is where the team n...

I'm assuming 6 ft 5 was a slight exaggeration. Leyton had two huge CB's and won the league. Surely you have just proved his point?

Re: Transfer Update

I think it can only be good to get some continuation in defence and then add 2-3 players to add competition.

I know the play off final wasn't really a game for the neutrals but I absolutely loved seeing such a brilliant defensive display and I hope they can all take that form into next season.

Re: Transfer Update

If Hyde and Tarpey can stay fit (big ask I know) then that is some forward line. They played really well together for the few games that they were both avaliable for.

Re: Transfer Update

Nothing on Toby. He's hoping that Little will either sign for a league team or us. Moussa is on holiday but he said he's hopeful of him signing on. Is Edser still contracted to Forest for another year? In which case a loan could be a viable option as he never played for L2 Port Vale... As far as I ...

Apparently it was part of the agreement when he took the pay cut and signed from Billericay. Still no confirmed but I don't think Dowse would go back on his word.
