Maidenhead a dump? I've been to worse places
What's the biggest dump out of all the conference teams? Except Aldershot of course.

Would be Dover or Gravesend for me.

Maidenhead United 2 v 1 Woking

Gerring

(Is Loza not banned after picking up 5 yellows???)
He’s only got 2 according to the club site.

Re: League table

We’re 4th in the ‘away table’ - 18 points from 10 matches.

But we’re 15th in the ‘home table’ - 14 from 11 matches.

Interestingly Maidenhead are even worse than us at home (9 from 10). All signs point to an away win, right?

Re: Genuine question

I'd say one of the most telling signs he is looking was Hyde's insistence that he got a hat-trick at Stockport. Didn't look like getting one on Sat, let alone three, and with Meite not even making the bench, we need someone to share the load. Hyde only got 1 at Stockport Hyde 1 Tarpey 1 OG 1 It’s d...

Re: Woking 0 - 0 FC Halifax Town | Interviews

Along similar lines, can someone please break down for me why our long throws into a 6'6 giant at the near post achieve absolutely nothing? I can't remember them achieving anything more than a goalmouth scramble or two, and I can't for the life of me work out why. We should be taking the piss out o...

Re: Match thread v Halifax

Halifax attacked well for the first ten/fifteen minutes then faded but defended well. We don’t move the ball quick enough to break down a strong organised total defence. Loza was pretty anonymous/careless too - even more reason Hodges should have come on earlier Agree with us not moving the ball qu...

Re: Match thread v Halifax

Why Hodges wasn’t put on earlier is a mystery, 30mins to go at home to 10men was crying out for a bit of excitement going forward to really go for the win - just seems we were happy to settle for a point from a long time out. That’s the problem with our squad at the moment - only two attacking opti...

Re: Match thread v Halifax

Felt like we paid the price for not having a striker on the bench today. Are we ever going to sign another?

First clean sheet since Solihull on the 24th August though which I guess is a positive.

8 home games without a win is a negative. As is 3 wins in our last 16 home league games.

Dowse’s catch up

https://www.wokingfc.co.uk/tv/v/1314/2/

In summary:

- Dowse once had a scrap with Mick McCarthy
- We’re not signing a right back
- We’re looking to sign a reserve keeper
- David isn’t going to be invited to Dowse’s GAFF
- Dowse wouldn’t have David as one of his dinner party guests

I just hope for everyone’s sake that; -league referees and linesman who are hard of hearing for fear or being in earshot of his constant bemoaning of all decisions throughout the 90 minutes. He's certainly no worse than Dowse or Garry in that respect. Dowse has probably mentioned referees twice as ...

Whenever I say Rendell never does something, he does it the next game.

He seems on good form atm to be fair.

Rendell Miss is the only video I’ve watched. He always goes left on pens.

Re: Sliding Doors Moments

Dowson had one season at National League South. Track records mean nothing. FFS He had two, and got a team with a bang average budget into the playoffs both times. Can't deny it's impressive, and his season with us is surely a demonstration that he was almost the best the league below had to offer....

Plus Chelsea were already in the Champions League before Abramovich came along. Before this season Spurs were seen as the best thing since sliced bread since Pochettino came along and Chelsea always “in crisis”. Yet Chelsea win a trophy every season and Spurs win nothing. And both are owned by billi...

Re: Sliding Doors Moments

Not appointing rookie manager Anthony Limbrick and not selling Joe Ward and Enih Effiong in January of the same season and then expecting to still stay up. What a shambles that whole season was. Given that we got relegated by a point, the sliding doors for me that season were the umpteen near misse...

More recently, I wonder what would have happened in 14/15 if Rendell hadn't been injured for 10 or so matches. Or if we hadn't had dropped Gez for the 2nd version of Marriott who couldn't hit a barn door. We stuttered massively around December/January that season and only finished 2 points off the p...

Re: Quiet

It’s pointless and ruins celebrations. Managers are to blame for us having VAR as their only deflection tactic for a defeat is to blame the ref. That's a very good point. Before VAR, there were plenty of Managers, Pundits and Commentators harping on about how much they need it. It all comes down to...
