Re: Stockport (H) Match Thread

A very average game today. As mentioned above two mid table teams trying not to lose. We don’t have much attacking threat these days. I noticed we’ve only scored more than 2 in a home game once this season (against top of the table Barrow). Loza and Tarpey couldn’t get on the ball much - difficult w...

Re: Paul Hodges leaves the club

Great as a sub last year. Got the feeling he would have played for free, he just wanted to play for his local team at a level he’d never played at before. Probably good in the dressing room as well.

Is this the extent of Dowse’s CLEAR OUT from January? Getting rid of one player who’s barely played?

Re: What do we know?

“Terrellible Thomas” turned out alright in his 2nd spell after being written off initially.

Caprice pretty much was a one trick pony (stepover then go to the byline and cross) although he was pretty good at that one trick.

Most on here said Bruno Andrade wasn’t any good...

Has DaveTheBountyHunter taken over your account? Arthur was also vegan before it was fashionable. he just played football like a fat bastard. Shame he never played like Jon Parkin tho. Seeing Parkin score goals for fun most of his career makes you think what he could have actually achieved with a b...

Re: Wall-the complete player

Warren Patmore, that brings back memories. That guy could hold up and control an incoming tank shell. And he didn't seem to be offside half the time. loved Warren Patmore. Away at FGR one year he was getting dogs abuse for being overweight. He scored and subsequently pulled up his shirt to reveal w...

We couldn’t even beat a team 2 divisions below in the First Round. Why would we have beaten two teams only 1 division below in Rounds 2&3?

Inih Effiong talks about his experiences with racism in football: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/article/1dd50528-435a-41fd-ba9f-9f955a819751 Interesting interview. With thanks to CC for the summary as a first point. Just had a quick look at last year's table to check the 14/15th budget suggestion. Complete guesswork but; Definitely more money: Torquay, Billericay Probably more money: Chelmsford Believable, if unlikely: Slough, St. Albans, Dartford, Concord I'...

  • Our budget for last season was about 14/15th in the National South. The board did not expect to come straight back up.
This is the most laughable suggestion I’ve ever heard. Does anyone actually believe that?

Believe that we’ve got the lowest budget in the league this year though.

The stupidity of the expanded playoff system was shown last year when Eastleigh got in to the playoffs despite losing more than 1/3 or their matches.

Maybe that’s why he wasn’t rated? Because the source hadn’t seen him play.

Yesterday was my first game for a while and the defensive frailties were there for all to see. The goals were absolute gifts
Yep. The first one was just after a needless corner was given away when Parry booted it behind under no pressure when Ross was about to collect it.

Re: Eastleigh (A) Match Thread

He has indeed been a constant presence in our team. Mainly in the season we got relegated. Last season when we got promoted, he wasn’t a constant presence. I’m prepared to give a bit of leeway to newer players but, like with Joey Jones, having watched a player for 3+ seasons you get a fair idea of t...

He hasn’t slipped down the leagues for no reason, Billy Knott was another Billy Knott had a few personal problems which explained him dropping down the leagues. Kane Ferdinand just isn’t very good. That’s why he was at East Thurrock before we signed him. He played a season in the Championship so he...

The same Gavin Denison who blamed Woking for Aldershot fans breaking the barrier at Kingfield. On Jayden Harris.. he looks completely lost in senior football, unfortunately. Nice of our giant defenders to let opposition players have free headers two games in a row.

We never score from corners either anymore.

Re: Ebbsfleet United 2-1 Woking | Match Highlights

You can usually get away with a couple of niggly fouls in the first half. Refs will only usually book a player if it's a cynical foul or a bad challenge. Then it usually gets to the 2nd half when the ref feels like he has to book a few people. The problem is that Poku makes so many niggly fouls thro...

Sure, Kane was partly to blame for the goal, but Parry fails to clear and Casey and Diarra end up doing the same thing. Poor all round. Onwards and upwards
The goal captures him perfectly. 2 yard sideways pass to Donellan, run away backwards, get it back lose the ball.
