Re: Postponed Games

Had we beaten Maidstone and then Oxford, we would have had Salford away in the FAT. Kind off glad we are out now

Re: Notts County

Whilst it is interesting to look at the bottom of Div 2 (& I see that the team that got promoted last year have been renamed Sol Campbell's Macclesfield Town), as well as the top of National North, to see who we might be playing next season it would also be good to actually get promoted 1st before t...

Good news on Oxford being out. At least that's another game we don't have to rearrange

Re: Woking vs Welling United

Good way to sum it up 'Man of the Match though (potentially controversially given he was hooked after 70 minutes), was Harvey Bradbury, who hassled and harried throughout, winning the ball as high up the field as possible to keep his side on the front foot. He dominated Thierry Audel, who resorted t...

Re: Fans Letting the Club Down

nb1978 - every time you post you are spot on. You should post more often I also agree with AndyT, its not the 1400 or so that turned up on Wednesday that are letting the club die, its the few after the game on Sunday that are doing this best to give this club a bad name, whilst everyone else, inc Do...

Re: Torquay

We must have had close to that at H&R, just that the home side didn't announce it as that.

The Torquay game will be a huge game, but there is a long way to go before that. Either side could slip up and give the advantage to the other.

Re: Postponed Games

I would have thought that the club are possibly waiting to see how Hemel, Truro and Oxford do in the FA Trophy this weekend, and then go from there.

Re: Paul Hodges

2nd league game in a row he has played the full 90.

Good player learning his trade at this level. Still feel that he is better coming off the bench and running at tired defenders, but has done ok when started

Re: tonights game

Tonight's game is huge as it is 1 of our games in hand on Torquay. To get nearer to them would be great, but it won't be easier against a promotion rival. As an aside Oxford City won in the FA Trophy last night, so it means that Welling also don't have a game at the weekend. It also means that shoul...

Re: Final reflections

I think that's where it was 1st heard. It occasionally gets used now, but its great when there is a big game, or the team are under pressure. I seem to remember it was used at Bury last year when we were taking the mick as well

Easy words for the newcomers to sing along to as well

Loans

we currently have 7 players on loan Bradbury and Little are here for the rest of the season which is great news Leighton and Eyoma are here for a month, and I believe Welling will be their last game, unless those loans are extended. Cant see Leighton staying, Eyoma might depending on the injury to M...

Re: Welling

If Greg isn't going to start up front ahead of Hyde and Bradbury, maybe he is worth a try in the no 10 role, just behind one of those 2.

That of course then leads to the problem of where does Edser play. Does anyone know when his latest loan spell is due to expiry

Re: Welling

Ashcard - we do know that Luer isn't really a winger, but with Max injured it was a choice between him and Hodges, and having scored a hat trick a few days before Greg got the nod. Hodges has also shown a tendency when played out wide not to stay there. the 2 FB positions and wide right are really t...

Re: Watford

I agree with R&W Army, they played a team to 1) give some of their squad players game time and 2) that they knew should win, with as KE states some insurance on the bench.

Not sure Deeney would be worth £30m though, not at his age

Re: Proud

I totally agree that VAR will ruin football. Ref at Fulham yesterday made a mistake, but how those that saw the review can still say that is a pen is a beyond a joke. I am actually glad that Mitrovic missed. I am also glad that the ref gave Oldham the penalty they got, as decisions like that aren't ...

If anyone wants to see a dive, look at the one Cairney did at Fulham, and even after VAR (what a joke that is) it still wasn't overturned.

Re: Final reflections

Gracia had the look of someone who didn't really know what he had let himself in for or what was going on when he got off the team bus yesterday.

It was also great to see a lot of the old players in the bar after the game
