Re: Luer

Signed by Lee Bradbury, who for obvious reasons came down to Kingfield a few times last season. What are the odds on Eastbourne having a Harvey Bradbury and Greg Luer forward line next season?

Re: Ex-Cards News (May '19 onwards)

Seven goals in eight league games for us last season, with at least two or three assists/penalties won into the bargain. That's a great return for an out-and-out striker, let alone someone who was primarily a winger. In the league below, The gap has got bigger from VNS to VNP. Doesn't appear to hav...

I think we can sign better wingers then him.

Jonny Edwards moves from Halifax to Maidstone "for an undisclosed fee". I assume that means Maidstone have paid Halifax money for him rather than Halifax have paid money to Maidstone to take him off their hands.

If that's true, I'd have Loza back in a heartbeat.
Both Loza and Cadogan have been announced as no longer with Billericay. I wouldn't bother with Cadogan, and much as I'd love to see Loza back, I suspect his decision to leave immediately after Watford will be held against him.

Re: Next Season Expectation.

Corrected for you. Yeah. I mean if someone that cost us at least 15 goals because of stupid mistakes in 2 seasons isn’t shit then I really don’t know who is. Interesting stat. At least, it would be if it were even remotely true, which it isn't. Having said that, if that's genuinely your view, then ...

Can you imagine if we had a Bristol Rovers or Torquay sized away following at Westfield?

It’s probably up there with the worst suggestions on this forum alongside people saying Joey Jones was shit.
Corrected for you.

He started off with us reasonably OK but then, er, wasn't. In fact we did not miss him at all did we?
We certainly "missed" him when he came back a few weeks later to score against us for Welling in a draw that pretty much caused us to miss out on the playoffs.

Re: AGM Lottery

The league really had no option, Gateshead couldn't prove that they could compete for a season If that's the case, then why are the league allowing them to play in NLN? Either the club should have lost their appeal and been kicked out of the National League completely or won their appeal and theref...

Have we ever had a player who sounds less like a footballer?
Didn't he start in the Aldershot academy? That must have been a bit of a culture shock.

Re: Dave Tarpey

Hyde and Tarpey if they both stay fit would be ideal. Hyde’s hold up play combined with Tarpey’s driving runs and both have a lethal finish, that could work extremely well Given their injury record over the last couple of years, I'm not sure we can afford to take a chance on both Tarpey and Hyde ne...

I am sure if someone had hacked his Twitter they would have put something a bit more exciting on there??
The "my Twitter's been hacked" message is from a year ago, not the day after the message about Billericay.

Re: Next Season Expectation.

Sure it will be tough, but as K.E says a lot of the 'full time sides' will barely be training more than us. The issue isn't so much the number of hours training as what the players do for the rest of the week. Any player who has to spend around 37 hours a week sitting in an office or classroom is c...

Re: Next Season Expectation.

There’s normally a mad board who appoint a rookie manager that turns out to be terrible. Someone will run out of money in October and someone else will have outrageous luck with injuries. Hopefully outside of that, we are better than at least one other team! There are a few encouraging signs elsewh...

I saw Shamir Mullings hanging around in our dug out for both the playoff semi/final. Previously worked with Dowse on loan at Hampton and played for Maidstone, Dagenham and Macclesfield last season but didn't have a great season so I'm sure he's available so could be a potential target for us. Re: Armani Little joins Torquay

Surprised he didn’t wait a bit longer to see if a League Two team was interested. Does that suggest the £ offer was unlikely to be bettered or that perhaps there is an onward route to Johnson Junior if things work out well? He might simply have looked at Toby Edser - outstanding in midfield alongsi...

Re: Ex-Cards News (May '19 onwards)

I didn't rate Wheeler - his main problem was that he didn't have the pace to get away from defenders and consequently couldn't make enough space for himself, hence his incessant back-tracking. But I've no complaints at all about his level of effort or enthusiasm, and he seemed to be a popular member...

Although we sometimes lose sight of it, players are humans that have bills to pay etc. Armani doesn't have another job outside of football and if he can be on a full-time wage, as opposed to a part-time wage, then he will take that. If Torquay are in a position to offer that to him then fair enough...

Whenever someone questions Diarra, I ask the question: Which would you prefer at centre-half? Joey Jones (Captain and mainstay for several seasons) or the fella who was once in the books at PSG? It’s the only question in the history of questions where the “no-brainer” isn’t Joey! Using that spuriou...
