Re: john goddard

Goddard will be very keen to stay full-time, but he didn't do that well at Bromley, so he might have to set his sights a bit lower than mid-table NL. Aldershot or Billericay, I reckon.

Re: Wassmer... again

I see Wassmer's just set up the Maidstone equaliser in their vital league game tonight against Maidenhead with an inch-perfect cross from the left wing. In for Loza on Saturday?

Re: Woking vs Welling United

Always interesting to read the opinions of a neutral. Even though there were a few solid performances, I thought Armani Little was a shoo-in to be Man of the Match. Nobody else seems to agree though!

Re: Torquay

If you've not got round to it yet, the Woking thread on the Torquay forum is highly entertaining and worth five minutes of your time. It is indeed a fabulously entertaining thread. To be fair to them, though, at least there are no threads on their forum about certain parts of the ground not making ...

Last three home games, I’ve had a “robust verbal exchange” with a chap who seems to think we should have a side with the ability of a Mancity/Barcelona select team.

Glad to say he wasn’t there last night.

According to him Dowse is out of his depth!!!!

Re: Fans Letting the Club Down

"When the crowd got edgy, Dowson typically wanted to deflect the flak from his players. “I had to turn around to tell the crowd to shut up at one point and let them shout at me," he explained. (Dowson) Not even remotely close to what he actually shouted! But who cares. If we get promoted, he can tu...

Re: Are we now allowed a Watford thread?

£500K from the cup run? That’s about double what the most optimistic view is - isn’t it? More ballpark crappy maths incoming, but if we assume that we get 50% of the attendance money for each game, and they're all are adults paying a tenner (patently not true, but just for ease), then we have earne...

Re: Wassmer

Oddly enough, saying something is a "fact" - even if you say it twice - doesn't actually make it so. FACT. Take a look at last season’s league table, then come back to me. Yep, had a look, and I notice that the team nosedived from mid-table and were relegated once Effiong was removed from it. So wh...

Re: Wassmer

As I said both players played a major role in a team that was relegated. Not a statistic, but a fact. You two can attempt to dress it up as much as you wish but that is the fact of the matter. Therefore, in my eyes, they are best put in the” Better Forgotten About” bin. Oddly enough, saying somethi...

Re: Wassmer

I think it's pretty unfair to judge anyone from the time spent under Limbrick. Only one maybe two players was fortunate enough to shine in his set up. Neither Orlu or Isaac were the lynch pins in previous set ups and were never going to succeed under AL. In hindsight it's probably good for Ricketts...

Re: Orlu reunion

Just for clarity - I wasn’t suggesting that I’d want him back. I just think that Limbrick’s complete lack of flexibility has painted him as one of our worst players of recent seasons, when I think he was just a square peg in a round hole. My initial point was that with a good manager, who knows the...

Re: Aldershot

I find it amazing that they are still defending that defeat on shotsweb. If we lost 7-0 to a team 2 leagues below us with any team then I’d be embarrassed. Really does go to show how great our youth team is given how many former Woking youth players we have in our squad. Bedford are three levels be...

Re: Aldershot

It really wasn't "an incredibly difficult situation" for them, they somehow managed to turn it into one. Anyway, what next for the ten brave soldiers who weren't risked away to mighty Bedford? Will the club decide not to play them in their next league game (against Wrexham) and instead wrap them in ...

Re: Aldershot

Is ti not a case of over budgeting in the past? If Jake Cole is still on same money he was when he left us (significantly more then we were paying as mentioned at the time) then that is a lot of money to pay a bench warmer. Their current situation is remarkably similar to ours; popular manager push...

Re: Aldershot

To be fair when Shahid was with us in the capacity of finance guru or whatever the role was, he actually miscounted by 200k and it took someone like PJ to point out his errors. It was not that he couldn't budget to save his life. Although I'm guessing based on his error with us that he actually can...

According to the former board member who posts on their forum, their playing budget for this season is circa 750k. According to Shahid Azeem (at a recent fans forum, allegedly), they are currently losing around 25k a month, which works out at roughly 300k a year. If both of those figures are correct...

Re: Aldershot

Just seen on twitter that two of their loan players have been recalled early, leaving them with an absolute bare bones squad. From talking to some of my Shots supporting mates, I think they're down to about 12/13 fit players, some of whom are also on loan and due to go back soon. It does go to show...
