Re: john goddard

They're welcome to him. He's not actually been good for anybody for quite a long time now. Absolute busted flush - he couldn't kick it at Bromley - maybe National South would have been better for him, but I'm filing it under 'not even a bit arsed'. Give me a break. Seriously. He'd rip the shit out ...

Re: Edser

Gutted to see Toby go. He's come on leaps and bounds for us. I hope he has a fantastic career. There is a flip side to having to lose him though. Look at the job Dowse has done with him and Little - brought them on amazingly. League clubs are going to look at that and be quite happy lending us their...

Re: St Albans roll call and pubs

There's a pub crawl we've got planned towards the bottom of the town. There are about 5 or 6 absolutely superb pubs in the crawl, I'm sure AndyT will fill you in on the details, I'll message him now and get him to give some info on this thread.

Re: Berti gone?

I presume this means we recall Sam Mason, who in the meantime has put some decent experience under his belt. But goodbye Berti, thanks for everything. Never known a player who played so few times for us but really 'got it' quite like he did. Saying that, I also think Craig Ross is up there too. You'...

Gutted about Loza though.

I thought they got it spot on, Casey man of the match by a mile.

Love that we can all watch the same game, all have totally different opinions and viewpoints but I'm still the only one that's right.

Re: Fans Letting the Club Down

There are two sides to part of this story. Firstly, anyone having a go at the team last night needs to get a dose of reality. These lads have done us proud, week in, week out. But really the point I wanted to make was about the home atmosphere. Show me a club, in any league which creates an atmosph...

Re: Character/Leadership

It would be really interesting just to plonk this squad in the National League and see how they'd do.
At the start of the season I'd have said we'd struggle, but I think these lads would be fairly comfortable mid-table.

They’re Welling. Never been any different as long as I can remember. They only difference is they usually beat us.

Not this bunch though, so proud of them!

Re: Aldershot

I don't want them to go down. I missed the two games against them at Christmas, usual results notwithstanding. An away crowd on boxing day of about 50 or an away crowd on NYD of about 1200. The derbies against Hampton were soul destroying, not least because they were so bloody easy. Financially I th...

Re: Welling

I feel sorry for Luer. He's proven that when he's played in the right position he can be dangerous and score goals. But so often he's played wide where he really doesn't have any impact on the game. I can see Harvey starting on Weds just to freshen the team up a bit.

Watford

Be more than happy if they go on and win the cup.

Their fans were very decent, and they respected us by putting out a strong side.

Good day all round I thought, and all the best to them.

Unless they play Everton, obviously.

Re: Oxford Lads

Ignoring Sunday which is just a one off. In terms of the rest of our season this is massive. Little in particular. Jury out on Bradbury, but if he continues to offer what we saw over those two games then we really could be on to something. Exciting times. Totally agree Viking. The rest of the seaso...

Good luck to them.
Although I was annoyed at the ticket fiasco, being there on new year's day was a joy.
The club officials were a really friendly and good humoured bunch. It's a nice little set-up they've got there.
Hope they can put the money to good use.
